Nine Weeks Old

This past week with the puppies we have evaluated the pups temperament and getting them ready to move to their new homes.  For the first time ever the puppies were introduced to a bird wing to assess their hunting drive.  All the puppies did great and went on point, some faster than others, they all show great prospects to be excellent pointers.  We are also evaluating their training ability they all did great and learned quickly that if you get reward, even if you can only sit for one second. Below see what the puppies look like now.

Below is Tigerlilly a little girl who is full of energy, she loves to run but when it's time for sleep she prefers a person's lap.  She was excellent on the bird wing and went on point only after a few drops.

Below is Dasiy who is high energy and thinks she should always get what she wants; mostly what she wants is to be with people.  At first she seemed uninterested in the bird wing however once she realized it was there she went on point right away!

Below is Rose who is very calm and loves to play and cuddle as much as she can.  When the bird wing came out for her she was one of the fastest to go on point.

Below is Holly another calmer one in the litter but when the big dogs start to play she wants to right in the action.  She was another one to go on point after only three drops of the bird wing.

Below is Violet who prefers to be in people arms when she can but loves her toys and playing with her sisters.  She had the most drive and determination for bird wing out of all the puppies, with some patience she did eventually go one point.

The puppies are starting to leave to their new homes this week and start the new chapter in their lives, they have grown into happy healthy puppies and we could be more pleased.  But for us the fun never stops with our Braque Francais, Ivy, Piper and Ace are ready to get out for a fun filled summer.  Last weekend we had some time to do some hunting training with the dogs.  Piper did great and this year we are going to work on her obedience to make her more steady in the fields. See Piper practicing below.

Ace also got on birds for the first time he was a little unsure about the whole situation however in the end he seemed to fun.  We will expose Ace to birds more and he will soon learn that there is nothing to be afraid of, see Ace below.
