This is about what everyone has been waiting for an update on Ivy's pregnancy. Ivy has been showing many signs of pregnancy this week; she has a loss of appetite in the morning and has swollen nipples. In the morning Ivy eats very little or none of her breakfast, a clear sign of pregnancy. Her nipples have also become a lot more swollen during this week another sign of pregnancy. With this information and the fact that she had two successful matings at the beginning of March we are certain that Ivy is pregnant. Next week we are taking her for her ultrasound at the vet. We are so exited to have puppies, they will be born at the beginning of May. We still have puppies available please contact us if you are interested or have any questions.

Recently we have been preparing for the All About Show that we are going to attend in the middle of April at the international centre in Mississauga. In order to prepare for the show we are going to need a sign and business cards for our booth. Below are the business cards front and back and the banner that we designed, with Ivy as the main picture, she takes very good pictures. We hope to see all of you at the All About Show to visit us and Ivy.
The other big news at Safron Kennels is Ivy's pregnancy, she was bred on March 3 which means that she would be about two and half weeks pregnant. However she is still not far enough along in her pregnancy to confirm that she is pregnant. This is typical of dog pregnancy though they tend not to show in any, or very little, changes in body, appetite or behaviour until about week 4. Ivy's body and appetite have not change at all she still eats well and doesn't look like she has put on any weight. Her behaviour on the other hand has changed a little bit normally she is a high energy active dog however she is lethargic and sleeping more recently. Therefore we still have to wait hopefully by week 4 we will be able to establish for certain if she is pregnant. Please contact us if you have any questions about this litter, we still have puppies available.

This week at Safron Kennels we went to Montreal to pick up Ivy, she was very happy to see us and was glad to be heading home. We now think that Ivy is pregnant and will be having puppies at the beginning of May this year. There are still puppies available form this litter so if you are interested please contact us.
While we were in Montreal I attempted to get a really good picture of Flocon to share with all of you however Flocon does not like to sit for the camera in my opinion these are the best picture we got. I know they are not very flattering but poor Flocon could not stand still, he is a very active, happy and excited boy. I did decide to post them anyways however for a more pictures of Flocon for people to look at.

Last week we all traveled to Montreal to breed Ivy with Flocon. Form the progesterone tests that we did the week the before they indicated that we would be ready for breeding on Sunday, so we all got in the car and left for Montreal Sunday Morning. When we got to Montreal we put Flocon and Ivy together and unfortunately they did not breed; Ivy was not ready. After a discussion the next morning it was concluded that we were to early and the best way to ensure that a mating occurs is to leave Ivy with Flocon; so on Monday Ivy was left at Flocon's hoping that mating will happen later in the week.
Once we were back home Flocon's owner emailed saying that Ivy and Flocon had a successful mating on Monday evening. We are very thrilled because this means that we are now expecting puppies at the beginning to May. We are hoping that Ivy and Flocon will have one more mating today, then this will conclude there time together. Today we are going to Montreal to pick up Ivy and bring her home.
